Myer showcases some bizarre looks on Spring Fashion runway

Spring has officially sprung and racing season is right around the corner, with Myer’s models showcasing what we may be wearing to cheer on the favourite at their Spring Fashion runway.

There was a Little House on the Prairie vibe in Melbourne this year, with models donning bonnets held on by bows as they stormed the stage.

With headwear appearing to be the focus, there was also a variety of flower crowns and intriguing sky-high fascinators making an appearance.

Oversized florals were the order of the day in some looks

The veils and three quarter length dresses were an ode to 1940s film stars, with monochrome looks making a big appearance and vibrant lips the order of the day.

Peaches, soft yellows and beige outfits were also included in the collection, which allowed the striking head pieces to speak for themselves.

The 80s have also made a comeback, with gloves, jewel encrusted earrings and capped sleeves making an appearance.

One model was seen in a powder pink slim fitting dress with a jewel encrusted veil, over the top earrings and black lace gloves, channeling Madonna’s style in the decade.

Bright red dresses also made an impact which were seen paired with white and black fascinators which allowed the bright dresses to stand out.

Amongst the bold looks was a lot more feminine approach, with soft layered dresses and gold leaves in one model’s hair acting as a striking headpiece.

Being spring, floral prints also dominated the runway and the delicate designs exuded femininity.

The models hair and make up was kept soft and simple which aided the woodland-inspired style.

One series of outfits appeared to draw inspiration from suits, with dresses featuring black blazers re-imagined with lace and bell sleeves for the runway.

There was another nod to the 80s and pop icon Madonna’s style, with bows featured in models’ hair.

The overall design of these dresses were kept simple but featured interesting necklines and cuts in the sleeves.

Flapperinspired dresses were also seen on the catwalk, with a variety of dresses being knee-length and featuring a dropped waist-line.

The darker floral designs featured deep greens, dark reds and rust shades and clutches embellished with floral designs.

Meanwhile pops of colour were trending for men, with their blazers often not matching the colour of their pants.
