Melissa Maree Goodwin sported a freshly inked spider web neck tattoo when she appeared at a Sydney court on Wednesday
An inmate’s foul-mouthed call to his mum about a female prison officer who is accused of repeatedly performing oral sex on him in jail has been aired in court.
Sporting a fresh neck tattoo, Melissa Maree Goodwin, 26, appeared before a Sydney magistrate on Wednesday in a bid to clear her name of sexual misconduct claims.
Goodwin denies she gave oral sex to prisoner Corey London five times in a prison storeroom at the Metropolitan Remand Centre in Silverwater between November 2019 and April 2020.
In a recorded jailhouse phone call following Goodwin’s arrest last May, London exclaimed to his mum: ‘Did you see the news? Did you see the news?’
‘No, what? she replied.
London said: ‘(Goodwin) got done. The little f***en’ s*** she is. … Some c*** got out, she was with him, then she got done.
‘I won’t say too much but she’s a f***en’ little dog.’
The court heard that London appeared to be referring to a relationship Goodwin pursued with ex-prisoner Caleb Valeri outside jail. Valeri is a Rebels bikie gang associate on bail at the time.
Love triangle: Goodwin pursued an entirely legal relationship with Rebels bikie associate Caleb Valeri after her arrest
The apparent love triangle between Goodwin, London and Valeri had been splashed across the newspapers.
London claimed to his mum: ‘This little Rebel dog f***ed her, I’m going to f***en’ kill him when I see her.
‘I was with him, hey, he was a jealous c*** bro’.
London added that he was ‘burning’ that Goodwin was seeing a ‘gronk’ and asked his mother to message Goodwin.
His mother replied, sagely: ‘At the end of the day … she was probably seeing like ten of you’.
London replied: ‘Nah… what do you mean, I was the first one.’
His mother also suggested he make the most of his situation.
‘You might be able to use it to your advantage to get out early,’ she said.
London agreed.
Outraged: Corey London fumed to his mother in phone calls tendered in court
London was called from Parklea Prison to give evidence on Wednesday however refused to come up from the cells because he feared for his safety.
The court heard London had his jaw broken just last month.
He was charged with contempt of court and still refused to testify when warned he would face further jail time.
Goodwin had pleaded guilty to engaging in an ‘intimate relationship’ with London.
However, Goodwin is fighting the claims of sex with London, with her lawyer Robert Webb telling the court their relationship was never sexual.
Prosecutor Timothy George said Goodwin wrote London a letter for Valentine’s Day which showed an ‘inherent depth’ to their relationship.
‘She’s really sticking her neck out, your honour,’ Mr George said.
Goodwin is also fighting charges she smuggled contraband, including chewing gum and tobacco, to London in prison.
The case continues.
