But Laura Byrne completely crumbled under pressure as she met Matty’s family for the very first time during Thursday’s finale episode.
The 30-year-old accessories designer was admittedly nervous and became flustered as she met Matty’s mum Ellie and his three brothers, David, Tom and Adam.

‘Because I was so overcome by how nervous I was and, unfortunately, when I’m nervous I talk a lot.’
Matty’s brother Tom said Laura was not as relaxed as her rival Elise Stacy.
‘I’m not sure if it’s nerves with Laura, but I felt like she was talking and talking and didn’t seem quite as relaxed as Elise was.’

Laura and Tom later had a private chat, during which he grilled her about her hobbies.
‘It was obvious that when he was asking what my hobbies are, he was trying to figure out whether he thought Matty and I are compatible,’ Laura observed.
‘I can completely understand why he has those concerns because when we were sitting as a group I got very nervous and I spoke a lot.
She continued: ‘And I feel like I have to explain myself so that he could have a better picture of who I am. I guess that’s the reality of having a very short period of time with each other.’
