A teenage boy was arrested in Eastern North Carolina for taking his parents’ car and driving intoxicated at 100mph.
The 13-year-old boy was arrested on September 6 for driving under the influence after admitting he had been drinking Four Loko, according to The Charlotte Observer.
The incident occurred around 9pm in an area called Clinton, the same night his parents reported their car stolen.

According to the Sampson Independent, officials told them they began chasing the teen once he hit a speed of 100mph.
‘This young man had taken his parents’ vehicle, and at some point before the Clinton Police Department encountered him, he had consumed alcohol,’ Clinton Police Chief Donald Edwards confirmed.
Police say they saw a red Pontiac Solstice speeding on Northeast Boulevard.

The police officers suspected the teen had been drinking, to which the teen admitted he had drank Four Loko.
The officers then made him do a breathalyzer test, which showed he was under the influence.
The boy was arrested under juvenile petitions and taken to the Clinton Police Department.
No bond given for the charges but he was given over to a Sampson County Sheriff’s deputy to be served an involuntary commitment.

‘Both the Sheriff’s Department and Clinton Police Department are working with juvenile officials and the parents to most appropriately deal with these offenses,’ Edwards said.
Officials say he will be contacted by a court counselor shortly.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2003-2012 in North Carolina 4,102 people were killed in car crashes involving drunk drivers.
