  • Some of the toilet paper – a popular item during NSW’s lockdown – was ruined

A Woolworths shopper has been labelled ‘pathetic’ after she jumped onto a pallet of toilet paper during Sydney’s Covid-19 lockdown and posted the footage on TikTok.

The footage shows a woman, 20, running up and jumping onto the pallet in the middle of an aisle at a Woolworths supermarket in Sydney.

The selfish stunt, which has been viewed over 130,000 times, left some packs of toilet paper unfit for sale when the the item is in high demand due to the current lockdown in NSW.

Footage also shows the shopper and her friends smiling after the pointless prank.

Other TikTok users were quick to call out the shopper’s ‘prank’.

‘She needs to be thrown out of the store,’ said one. ‘Pathetic,’ added another.

‘Do you feel cool now?’, fumed a third.

A Woolworths spokesperson confirmed the supermarket is investigating the incident.

‘We have been made aware of a video on social media which appears to be in one of our stores,’ the spokesperson told 7 News.

‘We are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding it.’

The new TikTok video comes as supermarkets in parts of Australia have been inundated with panic buying from shoppers.

On Monday night, Woolworths and Coles introduced a two-pack per person limit of toilet paper in NSW, ACT and NT.

It comes after scores of customers have been stockpiling toilet paper after NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirmed the lockdown until July 9 on Saturday.

Woolworths boss Brad Banducci remains baffled by the mass panic buying of toilet paper.

‘Frustratingly, we currently have a two-pack per shop limit on toilet paper after we have seen a huge surge, which has lead to some shortages in-store and online,’ he said in an email to customers.

‘It seems the almost primordial urge to pantry stock toilet paper is symbolic of these times.

‘As stated previously, we ask you to only buy what you need.’
