Laura Byrne would have turned Matty J down if he proposed

Laura Byrne was presented with a stunning promise ring by Matty J at the end of The Bachelor.

But the jewellery designer, 30, has revealed that she would have turned him down if he had proposed to her with it.

Appearing on The Kyle And Jackie O show on Friday, a listener asked her if she thought he was going to propose when he pulled out the diamond ring.

‘I’m not going to rush into marriage, especially after the show!’ Laura Byrne reveals she would have turned Matty J down if he had proposed

‘Oh yes, and I was packing it,’ she laughed.

The listener then pressed her further by asking whether she would have accepted his proposal.

‘We actually spoke a bit about this stuff beforehand. For me marriage is so important and it’s something that I’m not going to rush into. And especially not rush into for a show,’ the brunette said.

‘He wouldn’t have done that and I know that,’ she continued.

‘He didn’t put me in that situation because we’re on the absolute same path.’

Jackie O then turned to Matty and asked him if the show’s producers had wanted him to propose.

‘Yeah, they said the option was there,’ he revealed.

‘But when I designed the ring, they said it can be whatever I want it to be — an engagement ring, a promise ring, a commitment ring — and I decided it wasn’t going to be an engagement ring.’
