Harry Maguire has revealed his excitement at Jadon Sancho’s expected move to Manchester United once Euro 2020 has finished.
United have agreed a fee in principle for the 21-year-old, worth £72.9m, with Borussia Dortmund, and Sancho will sign a five-year deal that runs until 2026 and undergo a medical after the tournament is over.
His future club captain Maguire is looking forward to welcoming the winger to Old Trafford and spoke glowingly when asked about the move at a press conference ahead of England’s semi-final against Denmark.

‘First and foremost, Jadon’s a top player – exceptional talent,’ Maguire said.
‘He’s a young lad with a lot of experience, and his numbers speak for themselves with what he’s done over in Germany. He’s a great player.
‘I don’t think it’s a done deal yet, we can’t confirm him as a Manchester United player. I know it’s close.
‘He’s still a Dortmund player as it stands, but of course it’s exciting times ahead and hopefully we get it across the line.’
Sancho was given his first start of the tournament by Gareth Southgate against Ukraine, and showed flashes of how dangerous he can be when given the chance to run with the ball.

But after the match, he was insistent his focus was fully with England and not on his future at club level.
‘To be fair, I don’t want to talk about Manchester United,’ Sancho said. ‘Right now I just want to focus on England.’
Sancho previously played for United’s city rivals, joining their academy from Watford in 2015, before joining Dortmund two years later as he took the courageous decision to look for first-team opportunities abroad.
During his time in Germany, he played 137 times for the first team across four seasons, producing 50 goals and 57 assists.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping Sancho, along with the impressive array of attacking talent already at the club, can help United take the next step and push for their first league title since the 2012/13 season.
