‘This is how I get streak-free cutlery straight out of the dishwasher,’ Liz posted.
‘Scrunch a sheet of al foil and place into your dishwasher.’
In the video, Liz places the scrunched-up sheet in the cutlery drawer, before setting her cycle to a normal wash.
‘Aluminium foil can be used to remove rust, polish and bring back the shine of chrome, works with the heat and detergent,’ she said.
The cleaning method works so efficiently because of a chemical reaction between the aluminium foil and the dishwasher tablet, which breaks down all of the dirt.
The aluminum foil reacts with the dissolving dishwashing tablet.
According to Australia’s property maintenance company Fantastic Services, foil doesn’t have any cleaning properties but the aluminium works well on shining utensils and even oven racks.
