‘You got me’: Former Married At First Sight star Mel Lucarelli tricks fans into thinking she’s pregnant in a bizarre sponsored post

She joined season six of Married At First Sight to find a husband and start a family and left the experiment still single.

But in her latest Instagram post, Mel Lucarelli lead fans to believe that she was expecting a baby.

On Tuesday, the 39-year-old shared a photo of herself beaming as she posed with what appeared to be at first glance, a pregnancy test.

But on closer inspection, the reality TV star was actually holding up an object that looked more like a thermometer.

The photo was in fact a sponsored post for a product and app called Natural Cycles – a ‘hormone-free’ alternative to contraception, which tracks women’s hormone levels.

Unsurprisingly, there were a number of her followers initially believed her post was a pregnancy announcement, including one who admitted: ‘You got me.’

This is not the first time a celebrity or influencer has mistakenly led fans to think they were pregnant with a post from this product.

In May, another former MAFS star, Tamara Joy, shared a photo of herself promoting the thermometer-like contraception device.

She explained her past struggles with the contraception pill revealing that it affects her ‘body and mood wayyy to [sic] much.’⁣⁣
