The cross-breed pug and Chihuahua had to be rescued by firefighters called to his family’s home in Southampton.
The inquisitive pooch poked his head into the glass container to eat the remaining crumbs but was unable to wriggle free.
After numerous failed attempts using Fairy washing-up liquid to ease his head from the jar, the owners called Hampshire Fire and Rescue service.

Animal rescue tactical adviser Anton Phillips masterminded the operation to free the curious pup.
He gently pushed and pulled Buddy’s head, pulling back the skin to release one ear at a time, before there was a pop and the pup was freed unharmed.
Anton said ‘This was an unusual job and it was strange being able to see Buddy’s doleful expression through the glass.
‘I was keen not to risk breaking the glass as this could have injured him.

‘I have dealt with a lot of animals over the years and I always say if they can get it in, I can get it out.’
In July, a hungry puppy landed her owner with a vet bill after getting her head stuck in a cookie jar while trying to nab a biscuit.
Mother-of-two Sarah Unwin, of Rugby, Warwickshire, was horrified when her four-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback Clara got her head stuck in the glass jar.
After attempts to free her with soap and washing up liquid ended in vain, the 26-year-old and her husband Ben were forced to take her to the vets, who eventually got her out for a fee of £30.
