Covid Australia: New exposure sites across Sydney including Woolworths IGA and Chemist Warehouse

Urgent alert for new exposure sites across Sydney including a Woolworths, an IGA and a Chemist Warehouse – so do you need to isolate?

  • 9 new Covid exposure sites have been released by NSW Health on Friday night
  • Most of the venues are in Sydney’s south-west, including Campsie and Lakemba
  • Woolworths and IGA supermarkets were announced as hotspots across Sydney
  • Takeaways and cafes make up the remaining new NSW Health exposure sites

NSW Health has revealed a new list of Covid exposure sites including a Woolworths and IGA supermarket and two pharmacies.

Most of the nine new venues are in Sydney’s south-west, and include a Priceline Pharmacy as well as a cafe and fruit shop in Campsie.

New South Wales recorded another 170 Covid-19 cases overnight.

Of the newly-acquired cases, 42 were infectious in the community and 93 are still under investigation.

The following venues are considered a close contact and should be tested and isolate for 14 days regardless of the result. 

Chemist Warehouse in Lakemba, World of Fruit in Campsie, Awafy in Belmore, 85 degrees cafe in Campsie and Priceline Pharmacy in Casula.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed is a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result.

Lakemba, Chemist Warehouse, 105 Haldon Street. Monday 19July 4pm to 9pm. 

Campsie, World of Fruit, 224 Beamish Street. Tuesday 20 July 6am to 7pm. Wednesday 21 July 6am to 7pm. Thursday 22 July 6am to 7pm. Saturday 24 July 6am to 7pm. Sunday 25 July 6am to 7pm.

Belmore, Awafy, 416 Burwood Road. Friday 23 July 4pm to 9pm. Saturday 24 July 10am to 9pm. Sunday 25 July 11am to 4pm.

Campsie, 85 Degrees Cafe 216 Beamish Street. Sunday 25 July 1.05pm to 1.20pm.

Casula, Priceline Pharmacy, Shop 38 Casula Mall Kurrajong Road. Tuesday 27 July 8.30pm to 8.50am.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed is a casual contact who must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

Bellambi, Sam and Nic’s IGA Express, 36 Cawley Street. Monday 26 July 8am to 12pm. Tuesday 27 July 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Four other venues are considered to be casual contacts and those who attended should be tested and isolate until a negative result.

Broaster Chicken in Wetherill Park, Woolworths in Ermington, Luxe in Rosebery and Sam and Nic’s IGA Express in Bellambi.

Of the new Covid-19 numbers NSW Health said 87 were reported in south-west Sydney and 32 in both the western and central local health districts in the 24 hours to 8pm.

There are currently 187 patients suffering from Covid-19 across the state, of which 58 are intensive care and 24 are on ventilators.
