When noteworthy performers – such as Moran, Stanton, Al Jarreau, Sam Shepard, Charlie Murphy, and Dick Gregory – didn’t make the cut, several people expressed their outrage on social media as many questioned why these stars weren’t featured during the main event.
Stanton, who was most famed for his roles in Alian and The Godfather II, died ‘peacefully’ at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon at the age of 91.

All three stars, were however, featured on the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in memoriam section.
But what made people even angrier, was the fact that Roger Ailes, the 77-year-old television executive who built Fox News into the most-watched cable news channel in the country, was featured in the in memoriam segment despite being accused of sexual harassment.
While many entertainers were mentioned, quite a few were excluded from the Emmy’s annual homage.
