One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson was slammed during ABC’s Q&A on Monday night for her staunch views on immigration.

She was initially brought up by Labor MP Penny Wong, who said the Federal Government needed to stand up to the controversial Queenslander and her ‘messages of fear’.

Greens Senator Sarah Hanson Young was quick to jump on board, labelling Ms Hanson ‘a loony’ for her concerns about migration.

‘Today she’s out blaming traffic congestion on the M1 in Brisbane because of migration,’ she laughed.

‘I mean, this is… If it rains tomorrow, it will either be the gays’ fault or the migrants’ fault,’ the Greens senator said.

‘She’s loony.’

Senator Hanson –  who did not appear on the panel program when Hansen-Young and Wong made their comments about her – earlier on Wednesday blamed excess traffic on a Queensland highway on increasing migration throughout Australia.

‘We need to address the M1… when it’s a parking lot in cases it needs to be addressed,’ she said.

‘If the federal government intends to keep increasing immigration levels coming into this country, and not keeping up with the infrastructure required for that increasing immigration… we can’t keep going the way we are.

‘One Nation’s policy is to cut back on immigration levels coming into the country.’

Labor MP Penny Wong earlier warned the Federal Government over giving Ms Hanson’s messages ‘much more prominence and much less opposition than there ought to be’.
