A puppy which almost died in a house fire was resuscitated with a special oxygen machine designed for pets after it was rescued by emergency services.
The black Labrador known as Buster was pulled from a flat in Birmingham and was instantly given state-of-the-art oxygen treatment shortly after 7am today.
The puppy was unconscious after inhaling smoke caused by a kitchen fire.
At least three firefighters used special animal therapy equipment – including an oxygen mask designed for pets – to revive him.
They comforted the stricken puppy, giving him ear and head rubs while the gas was applied.
And after just 40 seconds of treatment, Buster regained consciousness and lovingly licked its hero firefighters as they continued to tickle him.
‘He’s come around now, hasn’t he?’ a firefighter said as the little dog enthusiastically licked its rescue team.
Billesley Fire Station in the West Midlands took the adorable video and posted it on their Twitter page.
They said: ‘Firefighters managed to resuscitate the pup using new animal 02 therapy equipment now carried on trucks.’
