Jodie Foster and son Kit, 19, run errands around NYC during rare public sighting
She received a highly distinctive award at the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France earlier this summer.
And Jodie Foster was seen under much more casual circumstances on Wednesday, when she was spotted out with for youngest son Kit Bernard Foster, 19, in the West Village neighborhood of New York City.
The double Oscar winner, 58, squinted under her sunglasses as she walked along, wearing a loose-fitting blue dress and black sandals.

Jodie’s summer frock featured white buttons down the front and delicate pleating at the waist.
She rolled the sleeves of her dress up to her elbows.
The Accused star also carried a black backpack.
She wore her dirty blonde hair parted at the side and behind her ears for the rare sighting.

Her son Kit, 19, donned a white T-shirt showing a howling gray wolf, along with gray shorts.
He had on black spectacles and at one point pulled a blue mask underneath his chin.
Kit also appeared to be holding the envelope for a voting ballot.
The pair were seen with another woman as they made their way to the post office, most likely Jodie’s ex partner and the boy’s other parent, Cydney Bernard.

Jodie and film producer Cydney, 68, are also parents two older son Charles, 23.
The two women were in a relationship from 1993, when they met on the set of the film Sommersby, until 2008.
Foster has since moved on, marrying actress and photographer Alexandra Hedison in April 2014.

In July, Jodie was honored at the 74th annual Cannes Film Festival with a special lifetime achievement award Palme d’Or prize.
The Silence of the Lambs star has been honored with many accolades throughout her long and prolific career, ever since starting out in the early 1970s.
Some of her early breakout performances include her Oscar-nominated turn as a teen prostitute in Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver in 1976, a small part in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore starring Ellen Burstyn in 1974, and more recent appearances in this year’s The Mauritanian.
