Meredith Vieira has revealed she once kissed Savannah Guthrie on the lips – who was so ‘out of it’ she has no memory of their smooch.
Talk show host Vieira and Daily Mail TV’s Jesse Palmer were on the Today Show to discuss Nicole Kidman’s shock kiss with costar Alexander Skarsgard at the Emmy Awards on Sunday, in front of her husband Kieth Urban.
While the smooch shocked many viewers, call-in guest Vieira said she had no problem greeting both men and women with a peck on the mouth.

Savannah Gurthie looked mortified after Meredith Vieira revealed during the segment that they had once kissed
But Guthrie seemed dubious, telling the NBC correspondent, that ‘ I don’t think we’ve ever kissed.’
‘Yes we have Savannah,’ Vieira shot back. ‘You were a little out of it, but we have,’ she added – to Guthrie’s mortification and the cackles of laughter from her Today co-hosts.
Palmer, the host of Daily Mail’s newly launched TV show, also weighed in on the controversial kiss.
The former special contributor from Good Morning America and ESPN football analyst, said that coming from Canada had given him a taste of a more European way of greeting friends and family – but he’d never gone as far as a kiss on the lips.
‘I have a place in Montreal and its a little bit more European-French where kiss on both cheeks,’ he told the Today Show co-hosts, ‘but playing football, we never did the kiss on the lips.

Palmer, the host of Daily Mail’s newly launched TV show, also weighed in on the controversial kiss, saying that as a football player, him and his teammates ‘never did the kiss on the lips’
‘My teammates passed on that,’ he joked.
‘But these two we’re talking about (referring to Kidman and Skarsgard), thet play husband and wife on Big Little Lies. They’ve done it before.
‘And Keith Urban is totally cool, because a lot of people, their faces went right to to Keith Urban to see what he thought, and he was totally fine.
‘They’re a great couple,’ he added.
He also joined the discussion about Ellen’s latest guest prank, this time on the poor and unsuspecting Sarah Paulson who she managed to scare not once, but three times on her show – the last with a terrifying clown jumping out mid-interview.
While Matt Lauer, Guthrie and Palmer all found the pranks funny, they agreed the last jump scare was a little mean.

‘I’ve seen those costumes before but the clown, with Stephen King’s film out, that’s one step too far,’ Palmer said.

The 38-year-old said he was ‘really really excited about’ the show, and had been a long time fan of the website.
‘I’m online all the time on Daily Mail Online. I love the broad spectrum of different stories.
‘There’s so many exclusives, whether it’s show biz or politics, crime, technology, science, sports, food… and we bring it all to the people at home in a fast and furious time.’

He added that Lauer and his cohosts made the job of hosting a news show look ‘easy’ when in fact, ‘your job is really, really hard.’
Although he had to admit, hosting was ‘definitely better on my body’ than football.
Palmer added that he had missed some of the hype about the show – due to his method of transport.
When Lauer had pointed out, ‘you’re on a bus’, Palmer responded, ‘I take the subway, I miss out.’
