Scarlett Moffatt has admitted she felt like she ‘just wanted to disappear’ as she faced horrific bullying from her classmates.

The former Gogglebox star, 30, claimed her school did not deal with her ordeal in the right way after months of being tormented by fellow pupils. 

Speaking out on her ordeal to The Mirror, Scarlett said: ‘I would get out of school ten minutes early so that they wouldn’t beat me up because they would threaten to.

‘I once went out to play with someone who I thought was my friend and it ended up being a bit of a trap, and there were six girls.’

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner says she called The Samaritans 20 times when she was at her lowest. 

Scarlett added that she is calling on both pupils and teachers to be educated in bullying and how to handle it properly.

The star also revealed that she tried to hide the situation from her parents because she didn’t want to worry them, and one day was forced to knock on a stranger’s front door in a bid to find a safe haven from her tormentors.

She explained: ‘I ran away and I knocked on this old woman’s bungalow and she drove me home because I was so scared. 

‘I used to walk round Asda car park again and again so my parents didn’t suspect anything.’

The Saturday Night Takeaway star eventually changed schools after she broke down and told her father what was happening.

Today, Scarlett tries to promote good mental health on her social media, recently telling her fans to ‘not let your mind bully your body’ as she shared a picture of herself in her swimming costume on Instagram.

In the snap, the star could be seen jumping into the sea as she went snorkeling on holiday last month.

She wrote: ‘Don’t let your mind bully your body. Don’t ever worry so much about your physical appearance that you let it stop you doing something you love or from having fun or from seeing friends or family or trying to find love.

‘Don’t think aww I’ll do that once I look a certain way. Because YOU my friend are bl**dy PERFECT just as you are RIGHT NOW.’
