Sam Burgess’ impressive weight was revealed during a balancing exercise on Tuesday’s episode of SAS Australia.
As the 32-year-old former NRL player ran across a platform suspended 30 metres above the ground, fellow recruit Koby Abberton remarked that he sounded ‘like f**king thunder’.
The former sportsman – who stands at 1.91 metres – was later revealed to weigh in at an incredible 120 kilos.

As Sam ran across the beam, the show’s DS (directing staff) admitted they were worried ‘the whole platform might come down.’
Speaking about his imposing size, Sam admitted it hasn’t always worked as an advantage, particularly on the sports field.
‘It’s not always an advantage to be the biggest player on the field. It helps me at times, but it can also be my hindrance for speed, agility,’ he admitted.

Despite this, Sam was able to complete the balancing task without issue, as his fellow recruits watched on incredulously from the ground below.
‘He’s a beast. He’s 120 kilos or some s**t,’ commented Koby, 42.
An amazed Erin Holland responded: ‘That’s literally double me.’
