Gemma Foster jumped back into bed (metaphorically speaking) with her evil ex-husband Simon on Tuesday night’s episode of tense BBC drama Doctor Foster.
But fans were up in arms about more than just the hate sex that took place between the warring ex-spouses.
Viewers were left raging when the eagle-eyed among them honed in on a continuity error to do with the kitchen fridge.
Door furore! Continuity outrage breaks out amongst Doctor Foster viewers as Gemma leaves the fridge open… but then turns around to find it SHUT
Closed: Having returned home from a terse exchange between Simon and their teenage son Tom, after his violent run-in at shcool, Gemma opened the fridge, extracted her go-to bottle of chardonnay, and downed a glass of wine
Having returned home from a terse exchange between Simon and their teenage son Tom, after his violent run-in at school, Gemma opened the fridge, extracted her go-to bottle of chardonnay, and downed a glass of wine.
However, viewers were horrified when one shot showed Gemma leaving the fridge door wide open while she decanted the wine into a glass, and the next saw it was shut.
To rub salt into the wound of the nitpickers among them, after shooting off a text and spinning back around to the fridge, the door was once again shown to be open.
‘Spotted a fridge does which magically opens and closes by itself on Doctor Foster,’ came one tweet from an aspiring Miss Marple.

Fuming: Viewers jumped on to social media to protest the mistakes
Another ranted: ‘#DoctorFoster driving me mad, nude shoes in one shot, black in the next. Fridge door open, then fridge door closed!!!’
‘Anyone notice the fridge mishap when Gem was on the wine? #DoctorFoster,’ a third person posted.
A fourth person cried: ‘Fridge door open, then closed, spot the mistake in the takes #DoctorFoster!’
Someone else could barely contain their disdain: ‘HOLD UP A MINUTE the fridge was open when she got wine, closed behind her when she looked at her phone then OPEN AGAIN #DoctorFoster!’
Dinner for three: In the same scene, Gemma (played by Suranne Jones) whipped up a meal for three in what seemed like 90 seconds – a meal that would have required her to boil pasta and cook chicken
Viewers picked up on this too: ‘Most disturbing thing about last night’s Doctor Foster was dinner: raw broccoli, cold chicken from the fridge mixed into barely cooked pasta’

‘#DoctorFoster seen her take the raw chicken out the fridge, didn’t see that or the pasta get cooked,’ another despaired.
Other than this, viewers were indeed left dismayed as the scorned GP enjoyed the steamy romp with the very man who had been trying to ruin her life.

Despite halting the sexual antics when he realised she was filming the session to blackmail him, the pair then continued their almost violent romp next door
Simon Foster, played by Bertie Carvel, initially declined her proposition but later succumbed to his former wife as she pressed herself against him in lingerie during the third episode of the BBCOne series, which has been getting increasingly raunchy.

In last week’s episode, Gemma slept with her son’s school teacher James Mohan, played by Prasanna Puwanarajah, and admitted she had paid a lover £50 a night for sex.
