He said: ‘I’ve spoken to her since she won. What an absolute star. She’s amazing. We chat all the time. We’re close. We’re good friends.

‘She’s just stunned about winning. I watched the match with my whole family, like the rest of the nation. She is a lovely girl and she makes me proud to be British.

‘She’s waving the flag for us… I’m going to play tennis with her soon. I’m sure she can probably teach me a thing or two.

Former Strictly Come Dancing star HRVY added his family used to have a tennis court so he grew up playing the sport.

The singer said he thinks people can be harsher on women in the public eye than men, particularly on social media which is where he first contacted Emma.

HRVY was previously romantically linked to EastEnders actress Maisie Smith who he competed alongside on Strictly last year.

The hitmaker said the pair ‘bonded well’ and he doesn’t think the audience were as nice to Maisie as they should have been, saying he thinks people were scared of how beautiful, young and talented she was.

The singer previously clarified that ‘nothing happened’ between him and Maisie on Strictly and said they were just good friends and have kept in touch.

It comes after HRVY recently admitted that he’s received racy messages from grandmothers since performing on Strictly Come Dancing.

He told The Sun: ‘MILFs? Do you know what, I think it’s NILFs actually. There’s a lot of nans in my DMs.’

He added: ”In restaurants, when I take my mask off and sit down, I have quite a few nans and older people come up and say, ”We watched you on the show, you did really well”, that’s really nice.
