Speaking about the helicopter challenge, where the celebrity recruits had to jump out of the helicopter and cross a ladder and climb back in, all the while being suspended over a lake, Dan said it took all day to film.
He was caught at one point sitting by the lake and meditating while waiting for his turn.
‘You’re surrounded by people all the time, you’re in a constant state of stress,’ he said.

‘It’s a big task, there’s 18 people who have to go across the ladder, it’s a helicopter reset. You don’t have to be a genius to work out it’s a film set, it’s a reset of a helicopter… We were there all day.’
He added that while producers were around on set, what you see on TV is ‘100 per cent’ real.
‘The tasks, and the discomfort, and getting called every name under the sun, and the sleep deprivation – that’s 110 per cent real,’ he said.

It comes after Dan’s fellow celebrity recruit Bonnie Anderson revealed she almost quit the show after the brutal ‘death by water’ challenge.
She told TV Week this week that the challenge made her feel the uncontrollable fear take hold.
‘It was an overwhelming feeling I couldn’t control,’ she told the publication.
The test required the recruits to be strapped in a submerged car and hold their breath for 40 seconds before swimming out of the water.
SAS Australia continues on Channel Seven on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
