Colorblind man cries when he tries glasses that see color

A heartwarming video shows the moment a man who is partially colorblind tries on glasses that help him see colors for the first time. 

Before the man puts the glasses on he doesn’t seem to have high expectations for them. 

He completely changes his attitude once he puts them on.

Staring at a wall he excitedly exclaims: ‘I didn’t know that was colored too!’

Overwhelmed by his new vision, the man starts to cry tears of joy. 

His dad takes him into the bathroom to look at the shower curtain that has a rainbow unicorn on it. 

‘I’ve never seen a purple like that before,’ he says through sobs while his dad hands him toilet paper for his tears.

He sits on the floor in the kitchen as the family hands him different colorful things to look at with the glasses, including a board game and some bright tutus. 

He tries to explain what the world looks like to him without the glasses. 

‘It’s like faded water colors vs. real intense colors,’ he says.

He also decides that purple is his new favorite color.  

‘I used to think my favorite colors were gray and silver,’ he says laughing.

The video was posted to Jukin Media on Wednesday. It is unclear where in the U.S. it was taken. 

The man sits on the floor laughing and enjoying all of the color. His family members pass him different colorful items to look at through his new lenses
