Scaramucci joined by Mario Cantone on The View

The View fans were seeing double on Friday after Anthony Scaramucci was joined by doppelganger Mario Cantone.

The Mooch was guest hosting the show when Cantone – who impersonates the former White House communications director on The President Show – came out as a surprise guest.

Wearing an identical suit and tie, Cantone came on in character as Scaramucci – complete with thick Italian-American accent and plenty of posturing.

‘Look at this guy, he’s my doppelganger,’ Cantone said. ‘Wasn’t that the name of the movie Ted Cruz was watching?’

‘I’m not used to sticking around in any one place unless there’s three hors d’oeuvres and a two drink minimum…,’ he joked. ‘Don’t make me slap you in front of company.’

The Mooch took the gag pretty well, greeting Cantone with a kiss, before joking that the actor must have been ‘bummed’ when he lost his job White House communications director after just ten days.

‘You’re lucky you’re here,’ the actor retorted.

‘You got nothing, Spicer got the Emmy’s. You’re sitting here with four bleeding heart chicharones.’

Cantone as Scaramucci also shared a few words of wisdom for White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

‘We have an old Italian saying… when things aren’t meant to last; rent don’t buy,’ he said, keeping in character.

When The Mooch began to protest that he thought Huckabee Sanders would last, Cantone interrupted, saying Scaramucci hadn’t enjoyed his time in the White House.

‘I had zero friends in the White House,’ he said as Scaramucci. ‘What was I supposed to do have facials with Steve Bannon? I love Donald Trump. I love him.

‘I give the man the shirt off my back if I didn’t think he would get ketchup and self-tanner all over it.’

Cantone eventually broke character, telling the former investment banker said it was ‘horrifying’ that he’d had to do his impersonation of Scaramucci in front of his mother – who was in the front row.

‘Thanks for giving birth to me ma,’ Cantone told The Mooch’s mother.

‘You’d have a much better life if she did,’ Scaramucci shot back.

Scaramucci later discussed his brief tenure as communications director and the tension between him and former White House spokesman Sean Spicer.

He revealed he wouldn’t ‘hit back’ at Spicer who had criticized him for not having the right ‘skill set’ during an interview on ABC.

Scaramucci denied claims he referred to Spicer as Melissa McCarthy who played him on SNL.

‘I was calling him ‘Liar Spice’ from the Spice Girls,’ he said. ‘I wasn’t calling him Melissa McCarthy. Totally different name,’ he said.

He also hit back at former chief of staff Reince Priebus, who he blamed for keeping him out of the White House for months.

He brought up ‘cockamamie stories that came out to delay my arrival into the administration.’ Scaramucci had to unload his company before he could join the administration.

But he cast his brief tenure as a partial sucess.

‘That’s a lot of infighting. Those guys are gone… I’m gone too. But I think it’s moving a lot better.’ He called the White House ‘more functional’ under new chief of staff John Kelly, who pushed him out, and new communications director Hope Hicks, who replaced him.
