Aaron Carter is checking into rehab, according to a new report.
The news comes following an incident on Thursday in his native Florida, when police were called to the 29-year-old singer’s home after a concerned friend thought Carter was in danger based on his appearance during a FaceTime conversation.
‘Aaron has decided to enter a facility to improve his health and work on his overall wellness,’ a rep for the Sooner or Later singer told TMZ Friday. ‘He is going to do this privately and focus all his attention on being the best person and performer possible.’

The entertainer himself cryptically referred to changes in the offing Friday afternoon as he tweeted: ‘Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.’
The Tampa, Florida native had been indecisive about entering a rehab facility – with sources telling TMZ that his decision changes ‘every hour’ – but was committed to the move as of Friday.
Carter’s relatives have been worried about his health as of late, the outlet reported, noting an appearance he made on the TV show The Doctors in August that ended in controversy.
In that outing, a drug test administered to Carter confirmed he had tested positive for the prescription pills Benzodiazepine and Hydrocodone, as well as marijuana, but negative for cocaine and methamphetamine.

Carter in August he revealed via Twitter that he’s bisexual, having had his first sexual experience with a man at the age of 17, four years after he ‘started to find boys and girls attractive.’
On The Doctors, an admittedly-‘scared’ Carter tested negative for HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis, telling the program he ‘felt like [he] was putting people at risk with [his] body’ and ‘didn’t have the courage to go face the music’ and get tested.
Carter was arrested (along with now-ex-girlfriend Madison Parker) in July in connection with DUI refusal and drug possession in Habersham County, Georgia, later telling Entertainment Tonight that he does ‘not drink alcohol at all’ and does not ‘need help’ with substance abuse. He said, ‘What I need is for people to understand that I’m human and that I make mistakes just like every other human in this world, but I would never risk my life or my girlfriend’s life.’
