Alex Perry tipped to join the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox Australia – as Foxtel boss reveals why certain stars don’t have what it takes to appear on the show
Alex Perry is rumoured to have joined the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox Australia, as casting continues for the show’s. 2022 season.
Speaking to TV Tonight this week, Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh strongly suggested that the fashion designer and media personality would be part of the all-star lineup.
Discussing the process of casting for the series, Mr Walsh explained: ‘It’s all about getting the chemistry right. It’s easy to go and pick names for the sake of names.’

‘Whether they’re going to give you the kind of television that you want, is another matter,’ he added.
Mr Walsh said he’d bumped into designer Alex Perry, and told him they were in interested in having on on the show.
Recalling their conversation, Mr Walsh said he’d praised Perry for having ‘such a sharp tongue’ telling him, ‘You don’t hold back!’

‘And [Perry said] ‘I’m in! I want to give it back to that bloody Anastasia, she’s always having a swing at me! Let me at it!”
Alex was referring Gogglebox fan favourite Anastasia Katselas, who is known for her quick-witted and often brutal commentary on the program.
Mr Walsh didn’t confirm if Perry has been actually cast in the new line-up, however.

Celebrity Gogglebox Australia will air concurrently with the normal season of the hit show next year.
In September, Daily Mail Australia broke talk of possible names on the series.
‘Several past cast members from Married At First Sight, Beauty and the Geek and MasterChef are on the whiteboard,’ said the spy.

Other celebrities said to be in talks include Anthony Callea and his husband, Tim Campbell, and The Masked Singer judge Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
Brian confirmed that a celebrity edition of Gogglebox was in the works in May.

The regular edition of the show recently had a casting call after two families decided not to return for the newest season.
The Delpechitra family – Patrick, Tracey, and their children Wendel, Vestal and Ethan – who live in Sydney’s west, aren’t featured in season 14.
Also taking a step back is the Elias family, comprising parents Les and Danielle and their three children, Jacob, Lily Rose and Ivy.
