Taylor Swift says she’s ‘doin hot squirrel s**t’ as she shows off squirrel costume for Halloween

Taylor Swift’s kooky Halloween costume sparked further theories about her current work projects among fans on Sunday.

The Cardigan songstress, 31, took to Instagram and Twitter during the spooky holiday to share an image showing her dressed in a huge squirrel costume, alongside the caption: ‘Can’t talk right now, I’m doin hot squirrel s**t’.

While the look was seemingly innocent to some, others took the look as a hint at an upcoming release, as many speculated that she was alluding to her re-recorded video for her 2012 song We Are Never Getting Back Together.

It was revealed last year that Taylor would be re-recording all of her albums following a massive public fall-out with Scooter Braun and her former label, Big Machine, and she now seems to be hinting at her work via Halloween.

Squirreling around! Taylor Swift showed off a massive furry squirrel costume and joked ‘can’t talk right now, I’m doin hot squirrel s**t’ as she led with humour on Halloween

Taylor posted two photos to Instagram and Twitter, one of her from the side and one straight on.

The costume was brown with a white tummy and undertail to matching the squirrel’s markings and included an enormous head with two buck teeth.

The Wildest Dreams singer tucked her blonde locks into a braid for the evening and seemed to go with a bright pink lipstick for a splash of color.

Her group of Swifties delighted in the costume as Twitter went wild, but a majority thought there was a larger meaning to the seemingly innocent ensemble.

Up to something? Some fans also could not help to think there was a larger meaning to the costume, that may mean new music as New York based social media users saw a film notice for a project titled 'Acorn' that shot on Swift's street last weekend

On Sunday October 24, New York based social media users captured a filming notice for a project titled ‘Acorn’ that shot on Swift’s street.

One fan account additionally captured images of production equipment being loaded into her apartment.

Some users thought that she may have been shooting a new music video to accompany her upcoming re-recorded album Red, as users pointed out she wore squirrel pajamas in her video for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.

Additionally in the video she danced around accompanied by a band wearing furry animal costumes, one of which was a squirrel.

‘ACORN IS COMING OMGGGG,’ wrote one user.

‘Maam does this have anything to do with whatever you’re filming?? Cuz squirrels and acorns???,’ said another.

Another tweeted: ‘OMG THEORY!!!! The Acorn and the squirrel. In the WANEGBT mv she is wearing squirrel pajamas and in an apartment building…

‘The project being filmed titled ‘acorn’ is the re recording of the mv and the squirrel costume probably helped confirm that.’

On September 30 she had tweeted: ‘Got some news that I think you’re gonna like – My version of Red will be out a week earlier than scheduled (including the 4 disc vinyl) on November 12th !…

‘Can’t wait to celebrate the 13th with you and our new/old autumn heartbreak album,’ with two film camera emojis as well.

Taylor has been re-recording her first six albums after Scooter Braun purchased her entire music catalog out from underneath her and then sold it without her knowledge for $300million to Shamrock Holdings.

The re-released albums will contain the original track lists, as well as songs she wrote or recorded at the time, but didn’t make the initial cut.

She channeled her recent album covers before teasing the release of Red (Taylor’s Version) as she made her TikTok debut in August.

Taylor admitted there’s ‘lots going on at the moment’ as she transitioned between looks from Folklore, Evermore and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in the seconds-long clip.
