  • The travel writer shared a video showing her partner slipping it into conversation
  • From ‘rat coffin’ for sausage roll to ‘bachelor’s handbag’ for roasted chickens

A young woman has revealed her ‘bogan’ boyfriend uses slang like ‘rat coffin’ and ‘bachelor handbags’ in every day life in an amusing TikTok video.

The video begins with the Australian man playing on poker machines – dubbing them ‘brickies laptops’.

She then films him picking up a roasted chicken from Woolworths – a treat he’s dubbed a ‘bachelor’s handbag’.

A young woman has revealed how her partner snacks on ‘rat coffins’ and loves picking out ‘bachelor handbags’ at the supermarket

Then next shot shows the young woman brushing her teeth, or ‘Barry beefs’ as her partner likes to call them.

The final shot shows the jokester sitting down to a sausage roll and sauce for lunch.

Only he describes the meal as a ‘rat coffin’ with ‘dead horse’ on top.

The woman explained the outrageous slang is slipped into conversations regularly, keeping her entertained.

And the quirky terms appeared to keep others thoroughly entertained too.

The video quickly went viral and has been seen by more than 356,000 people.

But some people were torn over the authenticity of the slang words and phrases.

‘I am from this country and I am 42 and I have never heard these, he is having you on,’ one man said.

These people were quickly put in their place.

‘I am 23 and I have heard all of these except for the rat coffin,’ said another.

‘Now I know why foreigners think we are all paid actors – I understood every word,’ laughed one man.

Some people had different ideas of a real ‘rats coffin’.

‘Where we are from that’s what we call dim sims,’ said one man.

Others said they know pies and samosas as rat coffins.

Others offered up their own slang terms, delighting the young woman further.

‘Pensioners piano is my favourite term for the pokies,’ one woman said.

‘Next time he has a sore back ask him if there is anything you can do to ‘fix the old Gary Jack,’ another offered.

Rhyming slang was also described as ‘top tier’ Aussie banter in the comments.

‘This is final evolution bogan though, most Aussies will only know one of these,’ one woman said.
