Police won’t rule out action against the Sydney brothel where accused drug-smuggler Cassie Sainsbury allegedly worked as a prostitute.
The 22-year-old claimed her arrest at a Colombian airport and Club 220 in Penrith were ‘linked’ during an extraordinary interview aired on Sunday night.
‘Right now with the brothel there isn’t a lot I can discuss, because everything that happened before and here are all linked in my case,’ Sainsbury told 60 Minutes.
The allegation of a connection between Club 220 and the 5.9kg of cocaine allegedly found in her suitcase could be of interest to the Australian Federal Police.
But the AFP refused to say if the western Sydney brothel would come under scrutiny following Sainsbury’s claim.
‘The AFP does not confirm or deny who it may or may not be investigating,’ a spokesperson said in a statement.

Sainsbury said she was unable to elaborate on her latest claim with any detail because her defence case is ongoing.
She denied her family were the party behind her alleged involvement in the international drug-smuggling syndicate.
‘Not know-know, but sort of know, if that makes sense,’ Sainsbury said when asked if she knew the person or persons that linked her past with her Colombian arrest.
Although multiple sources have claimed Sainsbury was employed as a sex worker at the club, the accused drug mule insists she was as a brothel receptionist.

She also told the program thought she was working as a legitimate courier and was to be paid $10,000 to deliver documents before her arrest.
The 22-year-old claimed her mobile phone contains evidence that could potentially clear her name, but she can’t remember the code to unlock it.
But body language expert Michael Kelly said Sainsbury’s constant movements throughout the interview suggested dishonesty.
‘When you’re touching your neck, scratching your head, it’s like you’re trying to hide the truth,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.
