Harrison Ford calls Blade Runner 2049 ‘f****** awesome!’

He played Replicant hunter Rick Deckard in 1982’s Blade Runner.

And Harrison Ford revealed he had no doubts about reprising his role in Blade Runner 2049, when he appeared on AOL’s Build Series in New York on Wednesday.

‘I thought it was f****** awesome,’ the 75-year-old said of the script. ‘I was blown away, blown away by it.’ he continued, adding, ‘my wife hates when I curse in public.’

Harrison’s wife is actress Calista Flockhart, 52, and she evidently doesn’t have much control over his language as he explained: ‘I like a free range of expression.’

The actor described the sequel, 35 years in the making, as ‘epic, huge.

‘It’s a cathedral of a movie, it’s not a little church you stop into along the way,’ quoting a line from The Mommas And Poppas’ California Dreamin,’ which the host didn’t recognize much to Harrison”s chagrin.

 ‘About four years ago I got a call from Ridley saying would you be interested in theory in revisiting the character.

‘He sent me a novella that he’d developed with Hampton Francher one of the original writers, which was really intriguing.’

And that was enough to get Harrison on board.

As for co-star Ryan Gosling, the veteran star called him ‘awesome’ adding it was ‘one of the best work experiences. 

‘He’s very talented but he’s also very straight forward.’

Harrison also recalled the moment when he decked the 36-year-old after throwing 120 fake punches during one scene, joking, ‘Yeah, I didn’t say I liked him.’ 

In Blade Runner 2049, Ryan plays a Blade Runner looking for Harrison’s Deckard who went missing from the dystopian world 35 years earlier.

Blade Runner 2049 is due to hit screens on October 7.
