Kirakira+ app that adds sparkles to Instagram videos

Want to brighten your Instagram feed? Check out Kirakira+, an app with seven sparkle modes to provide an extra dose of twinkle-factor to anything that reflects light on or around you.

While the app launched in 2015, it recently received a lot of attention during London Fashion Week after Instagram’s head of fashion partnerships, Eva Chen, shared a video wearing silver glitter Chanel cap toe boots that was filtered by the app.

The app costs 99 cents and is available in the Apple Store for iPhone users.

Putting her best foot forward: Instagram’s head of fashion partnerships, Eva Chen, posted a video wearing Chanel boots with the Kirakira+ app

Perhaps dressing with the app in mind, Eva showed off it’s full capabilities while strutting down the hallway of a London hotel wearing a 16Arlington sequin pantsuit.

Using the color filter, she added a shimmery rainbow effect to a slip dress at the Ashish spring/summer 2018 fashion show.

The app can make anything that sparkles, literally sparkle. Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley accentuated the rhinestone embellishment that ran down the sleeves of her cleavage-baring blazer and caught the light bouncing off the ocean.

The app is easy to use; after downloading it, switch the filters by swiping from left to right (just like Snapchat) and adjust the intensity of the sparkle using the toolbar.

It can only be used for video – not still shots – that can be uploaded to Instagram and Instagram stories.

With glitz, glam and an infatuation with the fantastical (think unicorns and princesses) trending, this glitterati app is just the fix us Instagramming fashionistas needed.
