Most actresses don’t have to do much on their shows except emote.
But Melissa Benoist can never phone her performance in on her hit TV series Supergirl. And on Friday the 28-year-old beauty illustrated why as she was seen kicking her arms and legs up to shoot a scene on a sidewalk in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
These images have surfaced just as the CW revealed they have cast TV vet Betty Buckley (Eight Is Enough) in an important role.
Working hard: Melissa Benoist looked animated as as filmed a scene for TV’s Supergirl in Vancouver on Friday

She raised her arm up then swung a kick, but appeared to be enjoying it as during a break she was seen smiling.
The CW show has been on the air since 2015 and has done well with its target audience.
Take that: The blonde beauty was wearing her blue and red Supergirl outfit and looked overly animated. She raised her arm up then swung a kick, but appeared to be enjoying it as during a break she was seen smiling
The plot focuses on Supergirl as she lives in National City and works for media mogul Cat Grant.
On Friday it was also announced that vet actress Betty Buckley would be joining the cast, according to TV Insider.
Buckley has been bringing class and sass to the small screen for almost as long as she’s been a Broadway legend.
And now, the Tony winner is set to make a new memory as Patricia Arias, the adoptive mother of Supergirl’s villain-in-the-making, Samantha (Odette Annable).
Her series: The plot focuses on Supergirl as she lives in National City and works for media mogul Cat Grant
According to The CW, the Arias women have been estranged since Sam became a teen mom and ‘their relationship is made all the more complex by the secrets Patricia holds.’
Given that Sam is actually Reign, the genetically designed, world-killing weapon we first peeped in May’s season finale being sent to Earth from a cabal of hooded Kryptonians before the planet exploded, it’s highly possible that one of those secrets the “honest, but stubborn” Patricia is sitting on includes the still-unaware Sam’s otherworldly and lethal origins.
Benoist rose to prominence for her portrayal of Marley Rose on the Fox musical comedy-drama television series Glee (2012–2014), and has appeared in a number of television series including Homeland, The Good Wife and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
She has also appeared in films such as Danny Collins (2015), The Longest Ride (2015), Patriots Day (2016), Lowriders (2017), and the Oscar-winning film Whiplash (2014).
