She’s the Aussie songstress who has been no stranger to discussing her weight problems in the past.
And now Christine Anu has opened up about how she shed 46 kilograms, after learning to love herself.
The 47-year-old said she first attempted dieting when she was 14, but it wasn’t until she learnt the importance of self-empowerment that she was able to effectively diet.
‘I’ve never tried the diet of self-love’: Singer Christine Anu opens up on how she dropped almost half her body weight after her ‘unhappy’ marriage
‘I’ve tried every diet under the sun but I’ve never tried the diet of self-love – and it really does come down to the relationship you have with yourself,’ she told Woman’s Day.
The Sunshine On A Rainy Day hitmaker weighed 106 kilograms at her heaviest, following her divorce to childhood sweetheart, Simon Deutrom.
‘I was clearly very unhappy in my marriage and I just lost all self control. I was eating drive-through takeaways in the middle of the night and eating at irregular times,’ she told the publication.
Christine and Simon first met in school 30 years ago, and they finally wed in 2010 in a clifftop ceremony on Christine’s native Torres Strait Islands.
But they confirmed their split in June last year after six years of marriage.

Christine told the publication she began to eat large blocks of chocolate and biscuits as she would go on a comfort eating binge.
But she confessed it actually made her feel worse, and led to her covering up mirrors in her house so she could hide from ‘the truth’ about her body.
The mother-of-two said her breaking point was not being able to roll over in bed, and a warning from a doctor about high blood pressure.

The now-radio presenter said her biggest change however, was changing her ‘inner dialogue’.
