The lights exploded in her hand, leaving her with second- and third-degree burns on her face, neck and shoulder.

Bianca Taylor, 26, has been left with second- and third-degree burns after a lighter exploded

‘I remember a big ball of fire like literally in my face and I remember my hair on fire out the sides of my eyes,’ the 26-year-old told Perth Now.

‘As soon as the flames hit my face it was like my skin had been scorched off, it was so painful. I blistered up on the inside of my mouth, my eyes, I could hardly breathe.’

Her skin is still incredibly sensitive to the sunlight, and she is still at risk of infection from the burns.

The store has since voluntarily pulled all of that type of Chinse-made lighter from the shelves

The Donnybrook mother said that she could have inhaled flames, burned her oesophagus and even gone blind from the lighter, which she says was made in China.

‘It could easily happen again,’ she warned, adding that anyone who has had a similar issue can call the Department of Consumer Protection.

She bought the lighter at a store in Bunbury, which has since voluntarily pulled all of that type of lighter from the shelves.
