Hugh Hefner’s wife Crystal breaks silence on his death

Hugh Hefner died on Wednesday at the age of 91 in his famed Playboy mansion in Holmby Hills, California.

And on Monday his wife five years, Crystal Hefner, broke her silence about the passing of the legend. 

‘I haven’t been able to bring myself to write most people back to thank them for their condolences. I am heartbroken. I am still in disbelief,’ she told People.

The blonde beauty added: ‘We laid him to rest Saturday. He is in the place he was always certain he wanted to spend eternity.’

Has buried at the cemetery near UCLA where Marilyn Monroe and Farrah Fawcett rest. 

Crystal, who TMZ claimed is getting a $7m home and $5m per their marital agreement, gave a touching tribute to the man known to friends as Hef.

‘He was an American hero. A pioneer. A kind and humble soul who opened up his life and home to the world,’ she said.

‘I felt how much he loved me. I loved him so much. I am so grateful. He gave me life. 

‘He gave me direction. He taught me kindness. I will feel eternally grateful to have been by his side, holding his hand, and telling him how much I love him.’

She also talked about how much the magazine editor did for her.

‘He changed my life, he saved my life. He made me feel loved every single day. He was a beacon to the world, a force unlike anything else. There never has and never will be another Hugh M. Hefner.’

She ended with: ‘I join the world in mourning. I thank you for all of your condolences,’ Crystal said.

She was his third wife.

His first wife was Millie Williams – they were wed from 1949 until 1959.

Next came Playboy cover girl Kimberley Conrad. They married in 1989 and split in 2010.
