Raphael Varane has been ruled out of Manchester United’s clash against Brighton tonight due to illness.

Victor Lindelof has taken the Frenchman’s place in the starting XI, with back-up keeper Tom Heaton coming in on the bench.

It remains to be seen whether Varane will be fit for the clash at Leeds on Sunday afternoon, or the Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid three days later.

The former Real Madrid player had started United’s last six Premier League games dating back to late December.

United are looking for a win having drawn their last two league matches, having taken the lead in both the stalemate against Southampton and Burnley.

Cristiano Ronaldo starts up front for the Red Devils, while Anthony Elanga, Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho are in support behind him.

United are currently fifth in the table, but can go above West Ham in fourth with a victory at Old Trafford tonight.

The hosts were frustrated in the first-half as the two teams went in level 0-0 at the break.
