A Brisbane transport depot has been raided by police over the suspicious disappearance of Lachlan Griffiths more than three weeks ago.
A homicide investigation has been launched after the 35-year-old disappeared around the 16th and 17th of January, when he was last seen on Herschel Street in Brisbane’s CBD.
Griffith’s mother, who police say he’s in regular contact with, reported him missing on January 26.
Lachlan Griffiths, 35, has been missing for more than three weeks after he was last seen around the 16th and 17th of January
‘He is in constant contact with his mother so that is out of character for him,’ Detective Inspector David Jackman said on Thursday.
‘We have no signs of life of that person post that date of the 16th or 17th of January. So we have got concerns for his current whereabouts.
‘We are actually treating this as a homicide investigation because as the length of time goes on, we’re now post four weeks since he was last seen alive.’
Detectives investigating his disappearance raided a transport business on Musgrave road, Coopers Plains in Brisbane’s south on Thursday morning.
A car has also been seized as police believe the vehicle was one of the last Griffith’s was seen in.
Police have spoken with a number of witnesses and said there are a few people of interest as investigations continue.
