WhatsApp is getting its own emoji that will be used in its chat app.
The Facebook-owned company unveiled its own symbols that look similar to those used on Apple.
Although for the hawk-eyed there are small differences between them – for example Apple’s ghost emoji has a black eye while WhatsApp’s does not.

The Facebook-owned company rolled out the emoji for Android beta version 2.17.364 on Monday.
After using Apple’s emoji on its platforms, WhatsApp now appears to be taking the direction of Facebook and Twitter and has created a custom set of emoji, according toEmojipedia.
The change could affect its 1.3 billion monthly users – one billion of whom use the app every day.
The symbols are still set in beta so it’s possible they will still be tweaked before launch.
‘At a glance, these could be confused for Apple’s own emojis’, Emojipedia said in a blog post.

‘Given that WhatsApp users are already accustomed to Apple emoji images it’s safe to say these shouldn’t be too much of a shock’, Emojipedia said on its blog.
WhatsApp was first to implement the middle finger emoji and briefly had an emoji for the Olympic rings.
The move comes after Facebook announced Messenger will be using Facebook emoji having previously used different ones that were released in June 2016.
‘At this time, we’ve decided to end our support of the Messenger emoji set to focus our attention on other features that help people express themselves and make the Messenger experience fun and engaging’, a spokesperson said.
