Vegas shooting: Terrified concert goers hide from gunfire

A video has emerged showing desperate music fans hiding under a stage as Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock rained bullets down on the Route 91 Harvest country festival.

As people panic and cower amid the carnage, one person can be heard screaming in horrified tones.

At one point the terrified person – who appears to be a woman or a girl – asks: ‘When will it stop?’

Someone off-camera then tells her repeatedly: ‘They’re going to make it stop.’

She is also told at one point: ‘Cover your head.’

But the terrifying ordeal does not end there.

The video soon cuts to outside, with the group recording it on the move away from their former hiding place.

The person who was asking when the shooting would stop can then be heard screaming: ‘He’s shot, did you see?

‘Oh my god, he’s shot.’

The gunman, 64-year-old retired accountant Stephen Paddock, killed himself as authorities stormed his hotel room.

He had 23 guns – some with scopes – in the room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino where he had been staying since Thursday.

He knocked out two windows to create sniper’s perches he used to rain torrents of bullets on the crowd of 22,000 some 500 yards away, authorities said.

Two guns were modified to make them fully automatic, according to two U.S. officials briefed by law enforcement who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is still unfolding.
