A home hack queen has revealed the three food tricks she swears by to save time and money in the kitchen.

Melbourne mum-of-two Chantel Mila, better known as Mamma Mila, has shared how to efficiently cut a watermelon, juice a lemon and dice up a kiwi fruit to make the most of the fruits. 

To cut a watermelon into even slices without wasting an inch the mum uses a piece of dental floss; she first runs it along the base of watermelon that’s still attached to the rind.

Melbourne mum-of-two Chantel Mila, better known as Mamma Mila, has shared how to cut a watermelon, juice a lemon and dice kiwi fruit

Once it has been removed from the rind she simply slices the fruit flesh with the string of floss to create even pieces and places them into a container. 

To juice a lemon without drying it out, she simply rolls it onto the bench to loosen the flesh inside and then pokes a hole into the top of it. 

The hole inside the fruit will allow juice to instantly flow out of it when needed without it going dry over time.

This method will reveal the most perfect bite-sized kiwi fruit pieces
