Surfin’ RCA: Man rides the waves on 58inch flat screen TV

  • He does catch some waves in San Clemente, but also has a few wipe outs

A California man transformed his 58inch flat screen TV into a surfboard to catch some waves in the Pacific Ocean.

Bobby Hasbrook, 26, from Laguna Beach is seen in the video adding twin fins and waxing the TV to get a good grip while riding.

Oddly enough, the TV can withstand Hasbrook’s weight and the barreling waves.

The TV becomes a very innovative surfboard as the surfer successfully rides the waves in San Clemente.

Hasbrook has been surfing since age two when he learned from his father.

He rides anything from beater boards, shortboards, mid-lengths, high-performance long boards, noseriders, and as of last year the occasional flat screen TV.

Though he does experience a few wipe outs on the TV and even a run in with another surfer, for a television surfboard it does the trick.

But the weight and shape of the TV is nothing compared to a surfboard. Though it may float in water, it’s definitely heavy on land as Hasbrook struggles to life it.

It’s unclear how Hasbrook got the inspiration for this transformative invention, but according to his YouTube page, there are many more to come.
