On Monday, it was reported that ITV had ‘sent a message’ to Mark Wright, 35, by replacing him on their new show with Michelle Keegan’s ex fiancé.
According to reports, Max George, who dated Mark’s wife Michelle, 34, for three years until 2012, has signed up for The Games.
Insiders claim Max’s hiring has ’caused a real stir’ after Mark left ITV bosses furious by quitting the upcoming reality show by text at the eleventh hour.
The Wanted star Max is preparing to film his first scenes for the anticipated new show, according to The Sun, after successful talks with ITV bosses.

A source told the paper: ‘For some it’s become a joke behind the scenes at ITV. If they can’t have Michelle Keegan’s husband – they’ll have her former fiancé.
‘It seems like it’s a clear message to Mark for leaving them in the lurch.
‘His decision to walk out left a really bad taste in their mouth. Now they’re having a good old laugh about it – and Max is the cherry on the cake.’
Representatives for Max have been contacted by MailOnline for comment. A spokesperson for ITV declined to comment.
It was reported last week that Mark has now been banned by ITV after pulling out of their upcoming sports reality show by text at the eleventh hour.

According to insiders, the former TOWIE star will only be allowed to appear on Soccer Aid as he left bosses ‘furious’.
His name is allegedly ‘mud’ at the television network and bookers won’t approach the TV personality.
A source told The Sun: ‘The only show they are happy for him to be on is Soccer Aid as he is one person in a sea of faces and has been a part of the event for years.
‘Those at the top have been bruised by this and it feels like a huge snub.’
Mark’s representatives and ITV have been contacted for comment by MailOnline.

Mark had already filmed scenes for the programme when he reportedly claimed he was ‘too busy to take part’ in a quick message to stunned producers.
Not only is he thought to have enraged top dogs at the channel, staff have now been left with the ‘mammoth task’ of editing out him out of background shots as well as a fitness assessment, which he allegedly filmed earlier this month.
A source told The Sun: ‘He was in great spirits on the day in Manchester but the following morning he appeared to have had a change of heart.
‘Mark’s excuse was that he was basically going to be too busy to commit, which to some feels absolutely incredulous given he’d already committed to filming.
‘Those working on the show aren’t sure what is harder to swallow, the fact he dropped out so last minute or the fact he decided to send a text rather than call in the first instance.’
So much going on: The set was split into various sections
