- Paulo Dybala’s current contract at Juventus expires at the end of this season
- His future is up in the air after he turned down a new deal earlier in the campaign
- The striker’s agent will travel to Turin in the coming days to re-open negotiations
- Juventus are set to make slight alterations to their previous salary offer to Dybala
Juventus are reportedly set to re-open talks with Paulo Dybala’s representatives over a new contract for the Argentine striker.
Dybala’s current deal in Turin runs out at the end of the season and he has already turned down a renewal offer from the Serie A club.
Juve are very keen to keep the 28-year-old as he is their vice-captain and has scored 12 goals in all competitions so far this season.
Paulo Dybala has already turned down a contract renewal offer from Juventus this season
According to Calciomercato, Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun will travel to Turin ‘in a matter of days’ for a ‘key meeting’ with Juventus’s management.
The report adds that the striker is open to discussing a new contract despite not being happy with how the club have handled the situation, including in the media.
Juventus’s new proposal will reportedly see a cut in agent commissions and a slight alteration to the £6.6million-a-year salary plus £1.65m in add-ons that Dybala was previously offered.
Past reports have suggested that the Argentinian was demanding around £8.2million-a-year in order to become the highest paid player at the club ahead of Matthijs de Ligt, who is currently on around £6.6million-a-year.
The striker is reportedly not happy with how the club have handled the renewal situation
Past reports have claimed Dybala wants to overtake Matthijs de Ligt as Juve’s highest earner
For Dybala to get anywhere close to this figure, it appears that Antun will have to waive a large portion of the commission he currently receives.
Dybala is a five-time Serie A winner with Juventus, having scored a total of 112 goals in 281 games since joining from Palermo in 2015.
His future has often been subject to intense scrutiny, with Manchester United and Tottenham both coming close to signing him in previous years.
