Footage from police dashcams, a police helicopter and traffic cameras can now be released, Nine News reported.

Police can be heard saying ‘shots fired shots fired’ as the drug-fueled duo flee into oncoming traffic.

The shirtless men attempt to stop several vehicles, causing a minor collision and shooting at one car.

One of the carjackers points his weapon directly at a dark-coloured sedan, but instead of stopping it runs him over.

The impact sends the man’s gun flying, and soon after he scrambles to his feet police in close pursuit are able to tackle both men to the ground.

Officers then handcuff McCabe and Tough and force them into police vans.

The chase, which spanned two states over four hours, began when the pair stole Brisbane mother Kristi Hatton’s car at Morayfield Shopping Centre.

‘He just came up to my door and had a massive gun. He said I’m taking your car, get out of the car. And I’m just screaming “my baby, my baby”,’ Ms Hatton said

A policeman from the Gold Coast, Bradyn Murphy, was awarded for his bravery during the chase.

McCabe and Tough pleaded guilty to multiple charges including shooting with intent to murder and discharging a firearm with intent to resist arrest.
