Sources insist Rashford has not made any decisions and is focused on regaining top form to win back his place at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, the academy graduate is far from certain to sign a new deal at United, who are desperate to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
Rashford has not started a Premier League game since facing Southampton on February 12.
The club will appoint a new manager ahead of next season, and any decision Rashford makes on his future could be swayed by who is appointed as Ralf Rangnick’s successor.

Sportsmail understands that PSG explored the possibility of signing the 24-year-old last summer but United had no intention of letting him leave.

The Ligue 1 club are monitoring Rashford as a potential replacement for Mbappe, who is set to leave France at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Should Pochettino replace Rangnick there is every chance the Argentine will look to keep Rashford – who similarly could be persuaded to commit his future to the club in the event of the Argentine becoming boss.
Ronaldo’s future is also in doubt after he missed the Manchester derby with what Rangnick described as a hip flexor injury.
The player’s sister Katia Aveiro liked a social media post claiming the Portugal star was 100 per cent fit and had been left out because Rangnick wanted to play more defensively against City.
Ronaldo added to the intrigue by deciding to fly to Portugal to begin his recovery rather than watch his team-mates in action.

The club would like to keep Ronaldo for the second year of his contract, but doubts are growing among the Old Trafford hierarchy that he can be persuaded to stay – particularly if United are not in the Champions League.
The difficulty for Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes will be finding a top club willing to match his £500,000-a-week salary.
Cavani was also absent at the Etihad after Rangnick indicated on Friday that the Uruguay striker was ready to return to the squad after a month out of action with a groin problem.
Cavani has made just seven starts this season and is set to leave in the summer.

It is understood that Martial has little interest in staying after joining Sevilla on loan in January.
The Frenchman would prefer to make a permanent move away from Old Trafford, but he is effectively under contract until 2025 and could meet resistance from United if the club feel they cannot afford to lose another striker.
United could also lose Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Donny van de Beek, Eric Bailly, Dean Henderson, Nemanja Matic and Phil Jones this summer.
