Cindy Crawford takes cameras on a tour of her closet

Cindy Crawford has walked the catwalk for the world’s greatest designers and graced the covers of the most well-regarded magazines, and now she is offering a peek into her own closet.

The 51-year-old supermodel is the latest fashionista to let Vogue’s 360° camera come into her Malibu home for a look at her incredible collection of instantly recognizable pieces, worn over her long career.

‘At a certain point, especially when I had enough room, I realized I had some incredible clothes from over the years that I’ve saved and wanted to preserve,’ she tells the camera.

She also adds before diving in that ‘one of the biggest differences’ between being a model then and now is that ‘we didn’t have stylists’ for every day events. However, she adds, ‘fortunately you had good connections.’

As an example of her use of such connections, Cindy shows off the famous Versace dress she sported to the 1992 VMAs.

‘I had seen this on the runway at a Versace show and I was obsessed with it, so I was like: “Hey! Can I borrow that?”

Cindy also reveals that the memorable dress has caught the eye of her model daughter Kaia.

Next up is Cindy’s only pair of shorts found in her archive, which are well remembered by 90s kids from the supermodel’s famous 1992 Pepsi commercial.

She reveals that the shorts were actually cut from a pair of her own jeans the day of the shoot and paired with a white bodysuit for a look that has since become iconic.

Cindy takes her viewers through a quick tour of her handbag collection, including a pair of Fendi bags and one ‘completely not practical’ but beautiful Louis Vuitton bag.

Despite being one of the world’s most recognizable fashion faces, Cindy reveals that jeans are her usual go-to staple, citing the area she lives in as the reason.

‘I always say that formal wear in Malibu is, like, Uggs or flip flops,’ she says, adding that ‘I just feel like myself in jeans.’

Moving on to her ‘most sentimental’ piece in the collection, Cindy holds up the white John Galliano slip dress she wore on the day she married her husband Rande Gerber.

‘No one was knowing that we were getting married so I couldn’t go wedding shopping because as soon as you do that, it’s over, people know you are getting married,’ she says.

So, instead of asking for wedding dresses, Cindy reveals that she got in contact with a stylist friend and claimed that she needed to look at black dresses and white dresses to possibly wear to a black and white party.

As soon as she spotted the off-the-rack $1,200 dress, she knew it was the perfect choice given the pair were tying the knot on a beach in the Bahamas and her then husband-to-be was ‘a leg man.’

The clip ends with Cindy revealing that she hopes to wear the ‘now definitely’ vintage dress on her 20th wedding anniversary – next year.
