Melbourne Woolworths shopper finds spider in salad

Look away now arachnophobes! This salad is enough to make your stomach churn.

It is the Australian supermarket that has branded themselves as the ‘Fresh Food People’ but one unlucky customer appears to have received the shock of her life.

Brooke Wiramanaden, from Melbourne, said she was left feeling disgusted when she claims she found a giant spider nestled in her salad.

‘What can I say, I wasn’t impressed, the fact that I almost ate it made me sick,’ Ms Wiramanaden told Daily Mail Australia.

‘You buy these products thinking it’s going to be OK as the packet clearly says washed and ready to use.’

One Woolworths customer appears to have received the shock of her life after she claims she found a spider in her pre-packaged salad leaves

She bought the salad leaves at a Woolworths store in Hampton Park in the city’s south east.

‘It made me sick – what else did I eat, were there eggs or other things lurking there? I buy a lot of prewashed salads and now I’m completely put off them all together.’

Brooke posted a photo of the special guest to the Woolies Facebook page saying that she ‘wasn’t happy’.

A Woolworths spokesperson responded to Ms Wiramanaden’s social media post.

‘We’re very concerned about this, Brooke, and take incidents like this very seriously. For your awareness this has been escalated for immediate investigation,’ the spokesperson said.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Woolworths for comment.

In the image a large visible spider was allegedly found in the salad she had prepared.

Brooke said she showed her colleagues the arachnid and snapped a photo before setting the spider free.

Knowing that this spider had been hiding in her produce made Brooke feel sick to her stomach, especially because she had eaten most of the salad before noticing her hairy friend.
