Penny Lancaster rang in her 51st birthday in style as she stepped out alongside her cheeky husband Rod Stewart on Tuesday.

The couple pulled out all the stops as they joined revellers to attend Cheltenham Festival for the opening day of the four-day event.

Rod appeared to be having a blast and larked around for cameras as he was puckered up to Penny’s chest while posing for photos with pals.

The model opted for a colour-blocked look as she donned shades of tan for her fashionable ensemble.

Underneath her jacket she added a knitted sweater and a crisp white shirt that peaked out at the sleeves. Penny completed her outfit with a practical pair of knee high leather boots and a matching weaved belt.

The high-spirited event, a highlight of the British racing calendar, is welcoming punters for the first time since 2020 after the pandemic forced organisers to hold last year’s event behind closed doors.

The famous festival was one of the last major sporting events to be held with spectators before lockdown in March 2020.

It was accused of being a Covid super-spreader event, with a number of famous faces including Andrew Parker Bowles, comedian Lee Mack and footballer Charlie Austin all contracting the virus.

Over the next four days, as many as 250,000 horse racing enthusiasts are set to descend on the Gloucestershire course.
