Adam Reynolds’ halves partner revealed, big names return for the Warriors and a VERY early return for Cronulla’s star recruit: All the must-know changes in NRL round two teams

  • Broncos name Albert Kelly to partner key recruit Adam Reynolds in the halves
  • Cameron Munster and Harry Grant significant inclusions for Melbourne Storm
  • Superstar Latrell Mitchell named for the Rabbitohs, Reece Walsh for Warriors

Broncos coach Kevin Walters can’t be accused of nepotism, naming Albert Kelly to partner star recruit Adam Reynolds in the halves for round two of NRL action.

Walters’ son Billy, who impressed in Brisbane’s season opening win against South Sydney, has been named on the bench.

They face the Bulldogs on Sunday on the road at Accor Stadium in Sydney’s west, with Trent Barrett’s men buoyed by their first-up gritty win over the Cowboys.

Tevita Pangai Junior has been named to face Brisbane in his Canterbury debut, marking his first clash with his old club following his ugly exit from Red Hill last year.

Elsewhere, Sharks recruit Cameron McInnes is set to make his club debut versus the Eels after 12 months out with a knee injury.

He has been named in the number 19 jersey.

Ricky Stuart has handed veteran Matt Frawley an opportunity to run Canberra’s side from halfback against the Cowboys, with young gun Brad Schneider testing positive to Covid.

Ash Taylor will make his NZ Warriors debut after being named in the No. 7 jersey to replace the injured Shaun Johnson (pectoral), while rising star Reece Walsh and prop Matt Lodge both return from suspension.

Taylor will be out to make a statement versus the Titans, who once paid him over a million a season as their playmaker before cutting him adrift in 2021.

Melbourne will welcome back Cameron Munster with open arms, as they look to win on home soil at AAMI Park in coach Craig Bellamy’s 500th game in charge.

Harry Grant also looms as a welcome inclusion after Brandon Smith broke his hand versus the Tigers.

The Rabbitohs have named superstar Latrell Mitchell to return from a six-match suspension after his sickening tackle that left his former Sydney Roosters team-mate Joey Manu with a fractured cheekbone on the eve of the 2021 finals.

Round two action begins on Thursday night and concludes on Sunday.
