The Countess, who is often been noted as the monarch’s ‘favourite’ family member, last week embarked on a rare high profile solo trip to the US, cementing her position as the Queen’s secret weapon within the new look monarchy.
In a clip shared on Twitter today from the trip, the mother-of-two told GMB’s Noel Phillips the Queen was feeling ‘good’.
Meanwhile she explained the whole family were looking forward to the monarch’s Jubilee celebrations, saying: ‘I think it’s going to be very busy. It represents the Queen’s life work and she should be really proud of what she has achieved. It’s wonderful.’

Meanwhile Sophie’s husband, the Earl of Wessex, visited Twickenham Film Studios as he became royal patron of the Production Guild of Great Britain today.
Edward visited the west London film studio – which is the UK’s oldest – to mark his new appointment, touring filming stages and the Bafta and Oscar-winning sound and picture department.
The Queen’s youngest son previously worked in production, setting up a theatre firm and then a film company before becoming a full-time working royal in 2002.
He called for a ‘brighter light’ to be shone on career opportunities to attract greater numbers of young people into production roles.
Edward met production teams to hear about their experiences of working in the industry, and joined Oscar winner Tim Cavagin, who won an Academy Award for sound editing on Bohemian Rhapsody, at the studio’s mixing desk to learn more about the craft and importance of sound editing.
