Heart-warming moment sailor swims over to rescue a stranded dog cowering on the rudder of another boat in the Philippines

A kind sailor has been recorded while saving a stranded dog cowering on the rudder of another boat in the Philippines.
Heart-warming footage shows the sailor climbing down from his boat before hopping into the water and swimming over toward the dog on the other side of the bay in Danao City on March 18.
He brings a life ring with him as he approaches the dog who his trembling with fright.
At first the dog backs away from the sailor but he then starts stroking him to try and calm him down.

The dog starts wagging his tail and seems to begin trusting the sailor as he hoists him off the rudder.
The sailor then put the dog on to the life ring before swimming back to his boat while holding the dog.
The scared dog can be heard whimpering while the sailor slowly makes his way back to his boat.
And one of the fellow sailors who is recording the rescue mission can be heard saying: ‘To the rescue man’.
Once the sailor and dog make it back to the boat another man climbs down the ladder to help carry the dog up to safety.

The sailor in the water hoists the dog up to the second man on the boat’s ladder before he then lifts the dog to a third man at the top of the boat.

The sailor they initially heard a splash in the water which they simply thought was a fish.
But then they saw the dog and went into rescue mode. They said: ‘We had work at that time, but he has a life he deserves to live.’
